Well our dream is coming to pass at last! We legally handed over our first Masters Degree in Biblical counselling to a well-deserved recipient in Witbank. The town has got a new Africa name which I cannot remember so let's stick to what we know for the moment. Elize and Jimmy Banks has a 7 year history with our ministry during which time we have become family in the true sense of the Word. Forgive the pun. As a family they experienced first hand the ravages of drug addiction when their eldest son fell prey to it. Their faith in God kept them focussed on his total recovery. After winning that battle in Jesus' Name they turned their energy and resources to helping other families. Jimmy and Elize put everything into starting up a XtremeBuddies support group in Witbank. Elize enrolled into several courses with our guidance and eventually graduated with the equivalent of a BA degree in Biblical counselling.
Because it is part of our philosophy to train people in excellence when representing God's Kingdom on earth, we encouraged Elize to write a guidebook for parents and support groups. This formed the basis of her MA thesis. It is a very practical handbook unlike the thesis' handed in at secular universities that consist of abstract ideas and academic theory. The power of Biblical counselling lies in the fact that God is so very practical in what He teaches us. He is a family God! Most of the Bible is about relationship. We thank God that we are in relationship with Xtremebuddies and their support team. They are doing an excellent job.
